They say that life begins at forty and this is certainly true of Billing Finance. Started in 1983, by my dad, James Mackaness, Billing Finance is continuing to develop, transform and ask itself what more can we do to serve our customers properly. I think for any business to succeed, you need to be constantly evolving and adapting to the environment.
At the end of last year, we looked at our mission statement “We get you where you need to be” and stated how we were going to achieve this “by working with you to provide vehicle finance and support when you need us.” We also honed our values to be “we care”, “we are responsible” and “we work together”, which tie in well with our environmental, social and governance strategy.
We have refreshed our website and marketing materials to eliminate stock photos and to show real people who work for Billing Finance and to tell their stories in a clear and transparent way. We have a programme of transformation which will optimise our new business opportunities, enhance customer experience, have highly engaged staff, and have stronger risk and credit management.
We will be celebrating our anniversary in May this year. I am very much looking forward to this. We have come a long way since lending £300k a month to a handful of customers across Northamptonshire after only a quick interview and a handshake! I look forward to our celebrations but will not dwell on them too long.
I would, of course, like to thank everyone who has worked for us, our brokers and suppliers and customers for getting us to this milestone and l look forward to what the future holds!
